Logstorage basic system architecture

The picture below shows a basic Logstorage installation.

(1) shows the log hosts. Log hosts may include client PCs, routers, network devices, servers, etc. They send their logs to LogGate using Syslog protocol or LogStorage Agent.

(2) shows the LogGate. LogGate saves the received logs as files and generates realtime alerts based on the content of the logs received. It can also run regular backups and perform other tasks.

(3) shows the system administrator's web browser. The console server runs as a web server. By logging into the console server using your web browser you can access all of Logstorage's features, such as searching logs, viewing statistics and generating reports.
